The best California glass bongs

Today we wanted to highlight one of the most important tools in any smoke circle: The Bong. Bong's come in many styles, from acrylic bongs, to ceramic bongs, to glass bongs, or even your homemade Pepsi bottle bongs. Most long time smokers will agree however, that the most ideal piece to smoke from, would be a glass on glass bong. Why? Well that's a very good question.

The reasons will be found, in how a bong works, by utilizing a pressure differential between its bottom and top in/outlets. Reduced pressure at the outlet is usually provided by the lungs. The smoke at the inlet is directed to the bottom of a column of water, where the pressure differential causes the inlet fluid to pass though the water in small pockets (AKA: liquid bubbles) and then rise to the outlet. In short they make the smoke cooler, and rise evenly through the pipe, due to the water bubbles hitting the surface simultaneously. Glass is the best surface for this. You may have noticed a taste difference in your marijuana, just by changing the piece you are smoking out of.

One of the key features of glass on glass bongs is the percolator, and in today's glass technology world, percolators are defining companies. The percolator design incorporates a number of small openings instead of large singular ones in order to diffuse the smoke into a larger number of smaller bubbles. This serves the purpose of increasing the surface area of the smoke that is in contact with the water and increasing the efficiency of heat transfer. A secondary function of a percolator is to trap certain components contained within the smoke. Water soluble substances enter into solution as the smoke/vapor contacts the water, while less soluble substances pass through with relative ease.

The Sovereignty brand should be a household name when it comes to glass. The pillar perc is their design, and it truly shines in delivering one of the smoothest hits around. Not many glass companies can match the work of these guys.

From what I have seen around, they go for roughly 900-1200 depending on where you get it, which pillar, and which extras(hollowfoot natty splash ect)
